A large male marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus albemarlensis) of Isabela Island. Here, continued predation on nests and hatchlings by introduced rats and cats has resulted in a very aged iguana population, mostly devoid the younger generations necessary to insure the population’s survival long into the future.
