The CRITICALLY ENDANGERED waved albatross (Phoebastria irrorata) only breed on two islands in the world, Peru’s Isla de la Plata and Isla Espanola in the Galapagos. Although their few breeding sights are well protected by the National Park, the species faces constant threat from long-line fishing throughout its vast feeding range.
