Land Iguana by Jono More ADDED THIS

A male land iguana (Conolophus subcristatus) on Baltra Island. The presence of a US military base on Baltra in WWII and the cats and dogs that went with it caused the extinction of the original population of land iguanas on the island. Fortunately, conservation efforts have since taken care of such predators and re-established the species back on Baltra after introducing individuals from the surviving population on the nearby island of North Seymour.
